6 Stories That Will Encourage You To Never Stop Trusting In GOD

Written by Alisha Nag

Why do we trust in God? This isn't a question we often think about. WHY trust in one whom we cannot see?

Here are a few members of our community who have shared the reason behind their faith in GOD

I was on the highway riding my bike one day at about 5am. I was on a slope when out of nowhere, a bus that was speeding on my left began to drift towards me. I tried honking to catch the driver’s attention but he didn’t seem to hear me. So I was forced to use my breaks and my bike began to skid straight towards the bus. Instead of getting crushed beneath the bus, I felt a hard push. I ended up hitting the bus but miraculously, I didn’t fall off my bike. Neither my bike nor I had a single scratch. I instantly knew it was God who saved me, and this is why I will always trust in Him. - Calvin Almeida

Over this past year, the preschool run by my husband’s parents in Kerala has been struggling with getting new admissions. During this time, we happened to visit them along with a friend of ours. We felt burdened and prayed for a breakthrough in their preschool. Soon after, new admissions began to flood in. In fact, even in spite of the COVID -19 pandemic, they were able to pay off a big loan for the preschool. Just watching God come through supernaturally in multiple situations like this has caused my husband and I to put our trust in God. - Esther Victor

From escaping near-death incidents without a scratch, to witnessing promotion after promotion in my career, and making it through nearly-hopeless situations successfully, I owe where I am physically, mentally, professionally and spiritually to God's hand constantly covering my life. I look back and see how God relentlessly came through for me every.single.time. How can I not trust Him? - Tianna Coelho

For a long time, I held onto bitterness and unforgiveness from my past relationships. I believed that I would always be a broken girl with failed relationships. But God came through and helped me to not only forgive the people that hurt me but also forgive myself. He brought healing and restoration in my life even when I thought it was impossible. Only God could do this for me, that's why I put my trust in Him. - Alisha Khan

After getting my eyes tested, I was diagnosed with -4 myopia in both eyes. My parents laid hands on my eyes and prayed for me every night for an entire year. After that year passed, we went back to the same hospital to get my eyes re-tested. When my doctors saw the reports, they laughed in disbelief telling us that my eyes were absolutely fine, no myopia. God completely healed me and that’s why I trust in Him. - Sthuthi Rachel Joshua

A few years ago I was writing a thesis for my Master’s degree. I had worked really hard on it for over a year. As the date of submission drew closer, I ran into some problems with my supervisors and one of them refused to sign off on my work. I remember breaking down one night and just crying out to God for help. The very next day, not only did everything fall into place, but my final presentation was also the best the examiners had seen. I went back home and broke down because of God's utter goodness. I was hoping to just pass my exam, but things turned out so much better than I could have imagined. That day changed my life forever, and I decided that trusting God was the most fruitful thing I could do with my life. - Priya James

AMAZING, right? Now I want you to take a minute, close your eyes, and think about why YOU trust in God. I urge you not to read any further without bringing to your memory how God has been faithful to you. In the midst of the pandemic we are currently facing, it’s so easy to question God’s goodness and doubt His promises. That’s why it’s crucial that we remind ourselves about His faithfulness towards us. It gives us the courage we need to persevere even when we feel defeated.

I will remember the deeds of the Lord; yes, I will remember your wonders of old.
— Psalm 77:11
